RFI: Publication on flies spreading diseases (3)
------------------------------------------------
Yes, I could send you a copy of my 2 page article on "Medical
importance of domestic flies and their control". To what postal
or fax address?
My short article was mainly reviewing work of my colleagues
Desmond Chavasse and Paul Emerson. Subsequent to my short arti-
cle they published their data in detail in Lancet 353: 22-25
and 1401-4. I expect that you have read those papers. A student
of mine, Elizabeth Thompson, did a short project with Emerson
in July-August this year which showed more flies trapped in
houses where there were trachoma cases than where there were
none and on the faces of children with eye and nasal secretions
than those without. Her abstract on this has been submitted for
a meeting next month at Roy Soc Trop Med Hyg.
Best wishes,
Chris Curtis
