Outline:
Fancy Stitch is an Oxfam Australia project partner inspiring women in rural South Africa, affectionately known as the Hot Girls, to learn new skills and generate an income with a needle and thread. The exhibition showcases textiles embroidered by women living with and affected by HIV and AIDS.
Fancy Stitch works with over 350 women from Ingwavuma in KwaZulu-Natal Province the women, affectionately known as the Hot Girls put food on the table for their families, relatives and communities by designing and selling their exquisite textile artworks which tell the stories of their lives.
Experience their artworks and see their stories shine through in this exhibition of 40 pieces of colorful work and imagery.
